Apple announced that it will invest more than $4 billion in the United States over the next four years. It plans to build a server factory for "Apple Intelligence" services in Houston, Texas, and expand the U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund from the original $5000 billion to $50 billion. It will also establish a manufacturing academy and accelerate investment in artificial intelligence and silicon engineering development.
At the same time, Apple has also decided to expand its teams and related facilities in Michigan, Texas, California, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, Oregon, North Carolina and Washington. It will also build a new factory in Texas and plans to invest billions of dollars in TSMC's Fab 21 production line factory in Arizona. It will also invest in 24 silicon chip manufacturers including Broadcom, Texas Instruments, Skyworks and Qorvo.
This investment will be Apple's largest spending commitment in the United States in history, and as part of its long-term investment in American innovation and advanced manufacturing technology development, it will also promote the cultivation of related technical talents.
Among them, Apple will work with its partners to build a 25-square-foot advanced manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas, and is expected to produce servers corresponding to the "Apple Intelligence" service in 2026. It will also double its advanced manufacturing fund and is expected to build an academy in Detroit, Michigan to cultivate the next generation of American manufacturing. It is also preparing to expand R&D-related investments in the United States.
The $5000 billion investment commitment announced this time includes Apple's collaboration with thousands of suppliers in all 50 states of the United States, directly creating jobs, and using "Apple Intelligence" service infrastructure and data centers to drive economic development. It also plans to expand the company's facilities and Apple TV+ content production team in 20 states in the United States.
Over the next four years, Apple plans to recruit approximately 2 employees, the majority of whom will focus on R&D, silicon engineering, software development, and artificial intelligence and machine learning-related fields. Apple will also invest significantly in its R&D centers nationwide to strengthen its teams' expertise in custom silicon chip design, hardware engineering, software development, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Apple also stated that it is one of the largest taxpayers in the United States, having paid more than $5 billion in taxes over the past five years, with $750 billion expected in 2024 alone. Apple has also created more than 190 million jobs in the United States through direct employment, collaboration with American suppliers and manufacturers, and business development driven by the iOS platform.
Many people believe that Apple's announcement is in response to the policies proposed by US President Trump, and to some extent, it is also to smoothly promote its product development in the future and avoid the influence of US government intervention. It can also maximize the efficiency of its product manufacturing through local investment.
