Previously, a phased return to office work beganAfterwards, AppleWill start from September 9thWe are required to return to the office 3 days a week, with Tuesdays and Thursdays being fixed as working days in the office. The remaining working days are left to the teams at all levels to decide.
Apple CEO Tim Cook and Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi sent a letter to internal employees, requiring employees to return to the office to work in accordance with regulations starting from September 9.
Prior to this, Apple adjusted its work model in response to the pandemic, allowing employees to work remotely from home, with limited time in the office for tasks that couldn't be completed from home. However, compared to companies like Twitter, VMware, and Dropbox, which have already allowed employees to decide whether to return to the office and have also allowed employees to work remotely for a long time, companies like Apple and Google still hope that employees will return to the office once the pandemic eases.
In his previous statement, Tim Cook said that some work still cannot be completed remotely, but he also believes that some work still needs to be inspired through face-to-face discussions and interactions. Therefore, he called on employees to return to the office to work together, but also emphasized that the work model will be adjusted to achieve a balance with the current flexible working model.
Currently, Apple employees are required to return to the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Teams at all levels can decide on their own whether to work remotely or in the office on the remaining working days. Apple employees can also apply for up to four weeks of remote work per year, depending on the nature of their work.
