Apple announced the launch ofThe new Apple Watch series 6, Apple Watch SE, as well as the eighth-generation iPad and the new iPad AirLater, it also quietly updated the AppleCare+ warranty terms, allowing consumers who purchase AppleCare+ services to enjoy up to two accidental damage warranties every 12 months.
Prior to this, Apple was limited to providing a maximum of two warranty services within every 24 months under the AppleCare+ service. In the current new warranty terms, the time has been shortened to every 12 months, allowing consumers to feel more at ease by purchasing the AppleCare+ service to ensure that if an Apple product is accidentally damaged, it can still be repaired at a relatively low cost.
The new AppleCare+ service terms will apply to Mac series, iPad series, iPhone series, Apple Watch series, Apple display series, Apple TV series, HomePod, and iPod series products. Apple will charge different repair fees depending on different products and repair details.
For example, damage to the screen or external body of an Apple display will incur a repair fee of NT$3200, while damage to other parts will incur a repair fee of NT$9600. As for iPhone screen damage, a repair fee of NT$900 will be charged, while other damage repairs will incur a repair fee of NT$3200. If AppleCare+ service is not purchased for these repair conditions, high repair fees will be charged.
However, the new AppleCare+ warranty terms relax the time limit for purchasing AppleCare+ services in the United States and Canada. Consumers can purchase AppleCare+ services at any time within the one-year hardware warranty of the new phone, while in other regions, they still have to purchase it within 1 days of purchasing the new phone.
