Apple announced a series ofApple TV +AndApple ArcadeBoth services feature a $4.99 family subscription plan, with the former expected to launch on November 11st and the latter to launch globally on September 1th. Apple's official website in Taiwan also announced subscription information, confirming that Apple TV+ will be available for a NT$9 monthly subscription, while Apple Arcade will also cost NT$19 per month. Both plans are available for the user and up to five other family members.
Compared to Apple Music, which is billed at US$9.99 per month (NT$150 per month in Taiwan), the newly launched Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade billing plans are obviously not expensive. They can even be used by up to 6 people. If you share the subscription plan with more friends and family, you will be able to use the service at a lower price. Obviously, Apple hopes to attract more people to join and maximize subscription revenue.
However, it should be noted that currently only Apple Music offers a free trial of up to 3 months per account, Apple Arcade offers a 1-month trial, and Apple TV+ only has a 7-day trial.
As for Apple TV+, in addition to "For All Mankind", "Dickinson", and "The Morning Show" that have been released earlier, as well as "See" announced at the fall conference, it also includes "Snoopy", "The Elephant Queen", "Helpsters", "Ghostwriter", "Servant", and "Truth be Told", as well as the original program content that Apple previously confirmed in collaboration with talk show queen Oprah.
In addition, Apple also announced that consumers who purchase new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac series models, or Apple TV products from now on will receive an additional one-year Apple TV+ service.
Regarding Apple Arcade, it is confirmed that it will provide more than 100 new and exclusive game content. At the same time, no advertisements will be seen in the game, and users will not need to pay extra for content. In addition, after starting the game on an Apple device, you can continue playing on another device. After the game is downloaded, it can be played regardless of whether it is connected to the Internet. Users can decide whether to share personal information. Even parents can prevent young children from being exposed to games that are not suitable for their age through screen time and rating protection mechanisms.
Currently, Apple Arcade partners include game manufacturers and studios such as Illusion Labs, Annapurna Interactive, Lego, Flightless, ustwo games, Directive Games, SEGA, Konami, Capcom, RAC7, Disney, and Cartoon Network, as well as games provided by well-known game producers such as Final Fantasy's father Hironobu Sakaguchi, Wang Youjian, and Will Wright.
Although the global launch is scheduled for September 9, the Apple Arcade service will actually launch in Taiwan on September 19 due to time differences.
The two subscription services launched this time are expected to continue to strengthen Apple's profit growth in service content, while also allowing Apple to compete with streaming video services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. They can also connect with the current highly valuable gaming market and even further change the stereotype that Apple devices have few games available except for the iOS platform.
