Apple has released a new update to its music creation tool, Logic Pro, enhancing beat-making and AI collaboration for Mac and iPad, with a particular focus on production workflows for genres like hip-hop and electronic music. The redesigned Stem Splitter delivers higher sound fidelity and, for the first time, supports separating complex parts like guitar and piano into independent stem tracks, giving creators greater flexibility in arranging and mixing.

This update also introduces a new feature, Flashback Capture, designed for improvisational situations. It allows musicians to capture every moment of inspiration by replaying audio and MIDI data, even without pressing the record button. When loop recording mode is enabled, all performances are automatically organized into a take folder for easy selection and editing.

Apple has also added more Sound Pack resources to Logic Pro. The new Dancefloor Rush pack provides over 400 rhythm loops and drum kits, combined with the Live Loops grid design, for more flexibility in the electronic music creation process.

The Mac version also adds two new distinctive sound packs: Magnetic Imperfections and Tosin Abasi. The former recreates the rough grain of tape recordings, while the latter embodies the sonic tension of modern progressive metal guitars.
For iPad users, this update also brings the Learn MIDI feature available on the Mac to the tablet version. Through an intuitive interface, users can assign knobs and sliders on their MIDI controllers to software instrument and effect parameters, further improving arrangement efficiency and real-time control.

In addition, the Mac version of Logic Pro also integrates the "Writing Tool" driven by "Apple Intelligence" into the Notepad function, allowing users to receive instant sentence suggestions and rewriting prompts when composing lyrics, improving the flexibility and expressiveness of the overall creative process.
Logic Pro 11.2 is now available as a free update for macOS, requiring macOS Sequoia 15.4 or later. New users can purchase it from the Mac App Store for NT$6990 or through the Pro Apps Bundle for Education. Logic Pro 2.2 for iPad is also available as a free update, compatible with iPadOS 18.4 or later, and comes with a 30-day trial. Subscriptions are available for NT$150 per month or NT$1490 per year.
Many advanced features of this version, such as Stem Splitter, require a processor with Apple M1 or above specifications to run. As for Flashback Capture's audio support, it must be enabled when Logic Pro is playing. In addition, third-party external microphones, instruments or MIDI controllers connected to the iPad version of Logic Pro must use designs compatible with iOS and iPadOS to function properly.
