Bloomberg News reporter Mark Gurman in his "Power On" columndisplay, Apple will have to wait until at least the end of 2024 to update AirPods Max, which will include new colors and the connection port will be changed to USB-C specification.

But Apple may change its plans later, such as replacing the processor chip with a new one or adding new features.
In addition to the AirPods Max, Apple also plans to release a fourth entry-level AirPods model, featuring a new design, an upgraded charging case, a USB-C port, and improved sound quality. Apple also appears to be adding a new AirPods model between the entry-level AirPods and the premium AirPods Pro, which will feature active noise cancellation and a ringing function in the charging case.
As for the upgraded AirPods Pro, it is expected to be released in 2025, with a new design and a new processor chip.
