Well-known analyst Ming-Chi KuoRefers toApple plans to launch an entry-level MacBook model equipped with an A18 Pro processor, and will also expand its virtual vision headset products, including the rumored smart glasses design.
A more entry-level, low-priced MacBook
Prior to this, Apple had already used Apple Silicon processors designed with Arm architecture to build various Mac series models and completely replaced the Intel processors originally used.
According to current rumors, Apple may use the A16 Pro processor originally used in the iPhone 18 Pro series to create an additional entry-level MacBook model. It is expected to be equipped with a 13-inch screen and provide color options such as silver, blue, pink and yellow to attract students or users with entry-level performance needs.
As for the suggested retail price, this entry-level MacBook equipped with an A18 Pro processor is expected to be more affordable than the current MacBook Air's $999 price tag, which is expected to attract a wider user base and boost overall Mac sales.
This entry-level MacBook is expected to be launched between the end of the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter of 2026. At the same time, it is expected that more Mac model shipments will increase in 2026. It is also expected to be able to compete with Google's Chromebook or entry-level Windows laptops launched by Microsoft and its partners.
Apple smart glasses
As for the prediction for Apple's virtual vision wearable device, Guo Mingchi expects Apple to launch an upgraded Vision Pro equipped with an M5 processor, which is expected to enter mass production in the third quarter of this year. In addition, it will also launch a lighter Vision Air, which is expected to enter mass production in the third quarter of 2027. The material will be changed to plastic and magnesium alloy, reducing the overall weight by about 40%, and the processor will also be replaced with the same design as the iPhone model.
In addition, Apple also expects to start mass production of the new Vision Pro with significantly upgraded processor performance in the second half of 2028. At the same time, the price and weight will become more acceptable to market users.
As for smart glasses, Kuo Ming-Chi believes that the first generation of Apple Glasses, which will be similar to sunglasses, will be mass-produced as early as the second quarter of 2027, and will offer a variety of frame and material design options, providing voice control, gesture recognition, photo and video shooting, and environmental perception functions driven by artificial intelligence.
Apple is also rumored to be developing augmented reality glasses with built-in displays. One model will enter mass production in 2028, while the other has yet to confirm a release date. Development of wired glasses accessories designed to work with iPhones or Macs has been halted, but may resume in the future.
