Related news indicates that Apple may launch a more affordable MacBook model next year to compete with Google Chromebook in the education market.
Apple currently offers Mac and iPad models to students and educators at a relatively affordable price through its BTS (Back to School) sales program. However, it now appears that Apple will expand its presence in the education market by creating more affordable MacBook models through lower-cost designs.
Relevant information indicates that this model will be released as early as the second half of 2024. Compared with the current MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, it will use lower-cost metal materials. It may also be simplified in design, thereby lowering the sales price.
It is uncertain whether such an adjustment will allow the 12-inch MacBook to return to the market, or whether it will be launched as a completely new product.
In addition to Apple's continued expansion into the education market, other players including Google and Microsoft are also competing in the market. For example, Microsoft uses its Go series of products as its flagship product for the education market, while Google continues to collaborate with brand manufacturers to create Chromebook products to attract students.
