Bloomberg News reportedApple is testing an upgraded version of the App Intents framework and promoting the deep integration of Siri with a number of mainstream apps, including Uber, Temu, Amazon, YouTube, WhatsApp, etc., allowing Siri to move further towards a "voice-first" operation and interaction experience.
App Intents is Apple'sWWDC 2025The new development tools announced at the 2018 Google Assistant Summit are designed to enhance the interaction between apps, the system, and Siri. The new framework introduces features such as interactive snippets, Visual Intelligence integration, and integration with Shortcuts and Spotlight, making interactions between apps more natural and responsive.
Apple is reportedly working with prominent app developers to test the ability to use voice to control operations like hailing an Uber, shopping on Amazon, searching for videos on YouTube, and sending messages on WhatsApp. This would significantly reduce the need for touch and clicks, improving operational fluidity. If fully implemented, this feature would become one of Siri's most promising applications.
If this test feature is successfully rolled out, it will allow Siri to evolve from a traditional manual interaction method that required explicit commands to a more proactive, context-sensitive voice interface. This will not only make user interaction more intuitive, but will also give Siri a competitive advantage over digital assistants like Google Assistant and Alexa.
However, whether this feature can become popular still depends on the extent to which developers adopt and apply App Intents, and whether Apple can successfully guide mainstream service providers to create compatible voice operation processes. If the experience of using popular apps in the market such as Uber and YouTube can be greatly improved, it will be able to successfully attract more developers to join in.
