The codenamed "Confetti" was announced earlier this year."Event Invitation" AppApple recently updated the app to version 1.6, allowing users to create invitations using images and even use the "Image Playground" feature of the "Apple Intelligence" service to invite specific individuals to participate in events. This update makes it easier for event inviters to know whether invitees bring companions or children.
With the year-end holiday party season fast approaching, Apple has released a 1.6 update to its official event management app, Apple Invites. This update addresses a long-standing pain point for event organizers, allowing invited guests to not only confirm their attendance when replying to invitations, but also to specify the composition of their accompanying group (Plus-ones), clearly distinguishing between the number of adults and children, making party planning more precise.
Addressing pain points: No longer just "Yes or No," accurately grasping the companion's situation.
In previous versions, the "Event Invitation" function only supported a simple "yes" or "no" response, which made it difficult for organizers to accurately estimate the total number of attendees. This was especially true when guests brought family or friends, and the discrepancy in the number of attendees often caused problems with catering preparations.
After the 1.6 update, invitees can specify the number of accompanying persons. Apple has also listed the number of "children" separately, which will be an extremely useful improvement for organizers who need to prepare high chairs for children, plan parent-child activities, or estimate the ratio of alcoholic to non-alcoholic beverages.
At the same time, this update comes at the perfect time for the upcoming Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve party season, which will help enhance the overall event experience.
Usage requirements: Requires iOS 18 or later; the organizer must still be an iCloud+ subscriber.
Regarding usage conditions, although users can currently download the latest version of "Event Invitations" for free from the App Store, Apple still sets certain thresholds for system environment and account eligibility.
First, to ensure proper functionality, all participants (including organizers and guests) must have their devices running iOS 18 or later. Additionally, while invited guests can use the reply function for free, the event organizer must be a paid subscriber to iCloud+ to "start" the event.
This design also highlights Apple's strategy in promoting its own service ecosystem, further enhancing the added value and user stickiness of iCloud+ by bundling practical life tools with subscription services.
