Apple has announced a collaboration with Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake to launch a new accessory called "iPhone Pocket." Featuring Issey Miyake's unique 3D woven structure and classic pleats, this accessory provides an elegant "extra pocket" for carrying your iPhone, accommodating any iPhone model and other small personal items.

The iPhone Pocket will be available starting November 14th at select Apple Stores in France, Greater China (including Taiwan), Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States (including Apple Store A13 in Taipei's Xinyi District) and on the Apple website. Taiwan is confirmed as one of the first global launch markets.

Inspired by "a piece of cloth": 3D woven, with transparent contents

The iPhone Pocket's design is inspired by Issey Miyake's classic "A Piece of Cloth" (A-POC) concept, and it reinterprets the practicality of his classic pleated garments.

• Unique 3D weaving:This accessory is made in Japan and features a unique 3D braided structure developed by Issey Miyake, with a classic ribbed open design.

• Discreetly wrapped, stretchable:The concept is to "create an extra pocket" that can discreetly cover the iPhone while being flexible enough to extend and store AirPods or other everyday items.

• Slightly perceptible:When the iPhone Pocket is stretched, its open fabric subtly reveals the contents, allowing users to glimpse the iPhone's screen or notifications.

The design philosophies of both parties were integrated, with Apple Design Studio involved throughout the entire process.

Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, the parent company of Issey Miyake, said that the iPhone Pocket explores "the joy of wearing an iPhone in your own way," and its minimalist design retains open space to accommodate more possibilities and personal interpretations.

Molly Anderson, Apple's Vice President of Industrial Design, pointed out that both Apple and Issey Miyake value craftsmanship, purity, and pleasure in their design philosophies. She stated, "This cleverly designed extra pocket embodies these principles, offering an elegant and novel way to carry your iPhone, AirPods, and everyday essentials."

Apple Design Studio worked closely with the iPhone Pocket throughout its development and design process, providing insights at each stage.
