Apple iniOS 26In addition to adopting the "Liquid Glass" design language based on the concept of glass overlap, the presentation of many operational visual effects has also been adjusted. For example, when playing music content on Apple Music, animation effects can be displayed in full screen, and the user experience of operating the playback function through the "Liquid Glass" design interface will also be opened to third-party music services such as Spotify in the future.
The MPMediaItemAnimatedArtwork API allows developers to add animations to their music services, allowing them to play full-screen when the iPhone screen is locked. Beyond music services, this API could also theoretically be used for podcasts, audiobooks, or video content, adding visual effects to the content.
However, this feature is currently only available to developers in a testing form. The official application function will not be available until the official version of iOS 26 is released. At this stage, the main focus is to allow developers to add this API function to their services and conduct relevant tests to confirm that the actual application effect meets expectations.
As for Spotify, which has previously criticized Apple for using its platform advantages to gain market development benefits, it has not yet been confirmed whether it will integrate Apple's API function into its music service.
The Apple Music update in iOS 26 also includes an instant translation function that allows users to understand the meaning of songs or podcasts in different languages. It also adds the AutoMix automatic mixing function operated by the "Apple Intelligence" service, allowing users to mix their favorite songs into different styles.
