Bloomberg News reportedApple has signed a cooperation agreement with Futuro Studios, which provides original content, and is also in talks with several other companies to expand its investment in original podcast content.
Apple is not adopting an exclusive cooperation model of content buyout. Instead, it will provide technical and financial assistance in exchange for priority rights to adapt the content into movies, TV series, and other content. This is different from Amazon and Spotify's approach of acquiring exclusive content. Therefore, the focus is obviously on increasing the content richness of Apple TV+ and thereby driving the profitability of the service content.
In addition to signing a partnership with Futuro Studios, Apple has also partnered with content companies such as At Will Media, Campside Media, Jigsaw Productions and Pineapple Street Studios, and has invested more than $1000 million in funding, hoping to expand the richness of podcast content and attract more people to use it.
Currently, companies including Apple, Amazon and Spotify are actively developing the podcast content market. Compared with video content such as YouTube, many people believe that podcasts and other audio content are easier to produce, and the entry level is relatively simple. Therefore, it has attracted many creators to join and gradually formed a certain market economic scale.
