After releasing a test version to developers during the WWDC 2023 held recently, Apple has now begun providing public preview versions of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 Sonoma, watchOS 10 and tvOS 17 to general consumers, allowing them to experience the new operating system application functions in advance.
Compared with the version previously provided to developers, the public preview version released to general consumers this time is relatively stable, and some issues have also been corrected.
However, since it is essentially still a test version, there may still be unexpected instabilities or compatibility issues. Therefore, it is recommended that general consumers who want to experience the public preview version should install it on a non-primary device as much as possible to avoid affecting daily usage needs.
Apple is expected to release the official versions of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10 and tvOS 17 this fall. The official version of macOS 14 Sonoma is expected to be available for download and update in conjunction with the launch of new Mac models.
