Bloomberg News reporter Mark GurmanRefers toApple is currently developing several subsequent versions of the Apple Watch, which include camera functions and are expected to integrate more artificial intelligence application functions.
Similar rumors have previously claimed that Apple plans to add a camera feature to AirPods, using computer vision to gather more information about the wearer's surroundings. This time, the rumor suggests that Apple will add a camera design to both the standard Apple Watch and the Apple Watch Ultra, but the designs will be slightly different.
For example, the standard Apple Watch's camera may be embedded directly into the display, but it's unclear whether it will adopt an under-screen lens design or maintain a punch-hole design, and whether it will be used for video calling. The Ultra model will have a lens on the side of the watch, near the digital crown and side button, perhaps for easier video capture.
The new Apple Watch design isn't expected to hit the market until 2027, and it may also be sold alongside AirPods, which also feature a camera.
On the other hand, Mark Gurman also pointed out that Apple plans to change the frame of the next Apple Watch SE to a plastic one. The reason is considering product design and production costs. The plastic design will be able to add more vivid color changes, thereby attracting more children to wear it, and at the same time it can further reduce the overall cost.
The Apple Watch SE launched by Apple in 2022 is priced at US$249. It is expected that the next updated Apple Watch SE will be available at a more affordable price.
