Updated:Apple had earlier asked the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals to suspend the implementation of the ruling in the Epic Games case.
In courtRulingApple deliberately violated market competition and approved Epic Games' recent request for an injunction, forcing Apple to adjust its App Store usage guidelines in the United States and allow external links to third-party payment consumption. As previously stated, Apple filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.lodge an appeal, attempting to overturn the previous ruling of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Prior to this, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California pointed out in her ruling that Apple's behavior involved violations of market competition and interference in market pricing. Therefore, she required Apple to stop restricting other payment methods within the App and affecting the rights of users to consume through third-party payment methods.
In the new ruling, the court prohibits Apple from charging fees or handling fees for paid purchases outside the app, and prohibits developers from requiring them to report, monitor, track or audit paid purchases or activities outside the app, or even requiring developers not to communicate with users outside the app, or restrict external links to use specific template language, including restrictions on button style, link location and design, and restrictions on the use of dynamic links (such as links that direct users directly to specific product pages).
After the court approved Epic Games' request for an injunction, Apple earlier adjusted its App Store usage guidelines in the United States and will no longer regulate the design of buttons within apps or restrict external links.
The adjusted App Store usage guidelines in the United States will no longer restrict the use of button design or external links to external promotional activities, third-party payment methods, etc., thereby allowing users to have greater flexibility in payment and making it easier for content providers to promote various promotional activities.
