Regarding the immersive audio and video content that can be used on its virtual vision headset Vision Pro, Apple earlier announced that it will launch more filmed series, movies, concerts, or documentaries starting from the evening of July 7 on the West Coast of the United States, allowing users to watch them in an immersive virtual vision through Vision Pro.
These videos are all shot in Apple's immersive video format, which uses 180D images with a 8-degree viewing field and 3K quality, and are paired with spatial audio to give users a more immersive experience when watching them with Vision Pro.
Videos currently or soon to be released include "Hot Air Balloons," the premiere of "Boundless," which allows users to immerse themselves in the launch of a hot air balloon in Cappadocia, Turkey; "Wild Life," a nature documentary series that explores elephant ecology in Kenya, Africa; and "Elevated," an aerial travel series that offers a bird's-eye view of Hawaiian volcanoes or the English coastline.
In addition, Apple will also launch "Submerged," its first immersive narrative short film, and "2024 NBA All-Star Weekend," which will allow users to immersively watch Rising Stars, the Slam Dunk Contest, and the inaugural NBA vs. WNBA Three-Point Challenge. An immersive performance by Apple Music Award winner and seven-time Diamond-certified artist The Weeknd and "Big-Wave Surfing," the first in a new sports series launched in collaboration with Red Bull, will also be available for immersive viewing through Vision Pro.
In addition to previously touting the ability to shoot various immersive videos using the iPhone 15 Pro's main camera system, Apple is also currently collaborating with Blackmagic Design to design an immersive video shooting workflow, allowing professional filmmakers and video creators to shoot more shocking immersive videos. This includes the use of Blackmagic's URSA Cine Immersive camera, as well as editing-related tools such as DaVinci Resolve Studio and updated versions of Apple Compressor, which are expected to be released later this year.
At the same time, Apple also announced that more immersive video content will be launched in the future, including TV series, movies, concerts and sports events.
