Apple earlier announced the acquisition of RAC7, the two-person development team behind the popular game Sneaky Sasquatch on the Apple Arcade service. This is apparently Apple's first acquisition of a game developer.
Digital Trends websiteReports allegeThis acquisition by Apple may not necessarily change its future development strategy, but it may mean that Apple plans to acquire game developers like Sony and Microsoft, thereby strengthening the richness of its first-party game content and attracting more games to its service platform.
On the other hand, there are rumors that Apple is preparing to rebuild Game Center and is expected to replace its original functions with a new application. Therefore, the acquisition of RAC7 may also be a preparation for this.
However, Apple only stated that the acquisition of RAC7 was to help it achieve better growth and development, and also emphasized that it will continue to provide richer game content through the Apple Arcade service.
