However, Microsoft still needs to obtain approval from the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to complete the acquisition of Activision Blizzard before the merger deadline of July 7. From the perspective of both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, it is clear that both sides are confident that the transaction can be completed before the deadline.
Microsoft has reached a consensus with the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to suspend litigation regarding its acquisition of Activision Blizzard and plan to resolve the CMA's concerns about the transaction through discussions.
In previous statements, Microsoft emphasized that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard will help promote the growth of the gaming market and bring gaming content to more players. It also stated that it is willing to provide gaming content to other competitors fairly in the next 10 years. However, Sony obviously does not believe what Microsoft said and believes that Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard will be more conducive to the sales of its game subscription service Xbox Game Pass.
