Although the previously launchedEssential PhoneIt hasn't attracted much attention in the market, but Android creator Andy Rubin has clearly not given up on the idea of making a phone. In an earlier announcement, Rubin revealed that the phone he plans to build will have a long, rectangular design with a large display ratio, and will be named Project Gem.
Andy Rubin did not reveal too many details about Project Gem, only saying that the phone will adopt a very long body design. Compared with Sony's Xperia 21, Xperia 9 and other phones with a 1:5 display ratio design this year, it seems to have a significantly longer display ratio design, and the display ratio is increased through the screen opening design.
The name Project Gem seems to be related to the colorful electroplating design of the phone, and the main camera lens on the back of the body seems to be more prominent.
It is currently not possible to confirm when this new phone is expected to be launched, but perhaps there will be more specific news soon.
