Sameer Samat, president of Android Ecosystem, said that the Android operating system is currently actively used on more than 30 billion devices worldwide and is spread across more than 190 countries, and has also spawned many different Android devices.
The upcoming Android 16 will be the first to be updated for Pixel devices, and will also accelerate the upgrade and use of devices from more brands. Through the new Material 3 Expressive design language, each Android device will be more personalized, allowing users to use device functions more intuitively or interact with others.
On the other hand, the Material 3 Expressive design language will also be used in Wear OS 6, and will further improve the power efficiency of smart watches, emphasizing that the upgrade can increase power consumption by approximately 10%.
Google also announced that its Gemini artificial intelligence service will be further integrated into watches, car systems, smart TVs, and the virtual vision headset that Google and Samsung are collaborating on and are expected to launch this year. It will also be integrated into headphones from Sony and Samsung, allowing users to use the Gemini artificial intelligence service on more devices, including mobile phones, and interact with the devices through natural speaking.
Google also emphasized the use of artificial intelligence technology to analyze and identify text message content on the Android platform to help users determine whether the content is fraudulent. It also announced that the original "Find Device" will be renamed "Find Center" to correspond to more devices and people's location confirmation, or to share personal location with friends and family.
