Tianfeng Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently posted on his personal Twitter account that Apple is testing a 9-inch foldable screen design device, but it is mainly used for technical verification to confirm whether the foldable screen design is feasible.
According to the description, the 9-inch foldable screen design device that Apple is currently testing will have a screen pixel density (PPI) between the iPhone and iPad, and is expected to correspond to the Retina screen resolution specification.
However, this test device is mainly used to evaluate the feasibility of the application of foldable screen design technology, and does not mean that Apple will launch a commercial product designed with this device in the future.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo's analysis, the foldable screen device that Apple will initially create will be targeted at medium-sized products. It may be used in tablet devices first, and then further used in larger-screen products, and finally in mobile phones. Therefore, we will not see the iPhone with a foldable screen design coming out too soon.
As for getting ahead of Apple, Samsung and other companies are already actively rushing into the foldable screen mobile phone market. In particular, Samsung plans to launch the fourth foldable screen mobile phone product lineup this year to attract more market development opportunities.
