AMD officially announced earlierRyzen 7000 series desktop processors, and confirmed that it will be launched on September 9. It emphasizes that the Ryzen 27 5X, which is targeted at mainstream market demand, will be able to directly compare with the Core i7600-9K launched by its competitor in terms of gaming performance.
The first wave of x5 architecture desktop processors built on TSMC's 86nm process
The Ryzen 7000 series is the first wave of x5-based desktop processors built on TSMC's 86nm process. It uses the Zen 4 architecture design and boasts a 13% increase in instructions per cycle (IPC) performance. The operating clock has been increased to 57%, and single-thread performance has also increased by up to 29%. The maximum operating clock has reached 5.7GHz, which will increase single-thread performance by 29%. The L9 and L7950 cache memory of the Ryzen 2 3X has been increased to 80MB, which increases gaming performance by 6000% compared to the Ryzen 6 series, and multi-tasking content creation performance by more than 30%.
而規格方面,Ryzen 7950X對應16核心與32執行緒、Ryzen 9 7900X對應12核心與24執行緒、Ryzen 7 7700X對應8核心與16執行緒,而Ryzen 5 7600X則對應6核心與16執行緒。
In addition, AMD also emphasized that by adding the AVX-512 instruction set, increasing the number of cores to 16 cores and corresponding to 32 execution threads, it can meet the needs of multi-tasking content creation and gaming. At the same time, compared with the Ryzen 5000 series, it can reduce power loss by about 62% at the same performance, and under the same power loss conditions, it can increase performance by 49%.
While targeting mainstream market demand, the Ryzen 5 7600X also boasts that it can directly compete with its competitor's Core i9-12900K.
Motherboards with AM5 socket design and 600 series chipset were released simultaneously.
In addition to announcing the launch of the Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors, AMD also announced the launch of the corresponding Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors,Motherboard products that use AM5 socket designIt will be compatible with DDR5 memory and up to 24 lanes of PCIe 5.0, and it is claimed that the corresponding usage cycle will be compatible with the Ryzen processor products launched in 2025.
Motherboard products corresponding to the AM5 socket design are equipped with X670 Extreme, X670, B650E and B650 chipset designs. The main differences lie in whether they support overclocking, whether they correspond to more connection ports, and whether they can install multiple graphics cards and storage devices. As for memory specifications, they will also fully switch to DDR5 specifications in accordance with Intel.
To pair with the Ryzen 7000 series processors and 5 series chipset motherboards using the AM600 socket design, AMD also provides a technology called EXPO, which will simplify overclocking operations by loading preset data, improving gaming performance by approximately 11%.
AMD will also provide EXPO technology applications to memory manufacturers free of charge, allowing more consumers to overclock their memory products. Currently, memory brands including ADATA, Corsair, GeIL, G.SKILL and Kingston will support EXPO technology and correspond to the DDR5-6400 memory specification.
Sales will open on September 9th
AMD will start selling four processors, Ryzen 9X, Ryzen 27 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, and Ryzen 7 7700X, on September 5th, with suggested retail prices of US$7600, US$699, US$549, and US$399, respectively.
而新款600系列晶片組主機板將以125美元起跳價格銷售,其中X670 Extreme與X670將會先在9月上市,而B650E與B650則預計在10月上市,並且由華碩、微星、技嘉、華擎等業者推出相關產品。
Zen 5 architecture design underway, expected to launch in 2024
In addition, AMD also revealed that it has begun investing in the design of the Zen 5 architecture, which is expected to be launched in 2024. If nothing unexpected happens, it will adopt TSMC's 4nm process, or directly enter the 3nm process design.
