Like the Ryzen 7040 series, the Ryzen 8040 series processors also integrate Ryzen AI computing elements designed with the XDNA architecture. The computing performance of the newly launched Ryzen 8 9HS with an 8945-core design will be 2 times faster than the previous generation when running artificial intelligence models such as Llama 1.4, and 9 times faster than the Intel Core i13900-1.8H in gaming speeds, and can increase work efficiency by 1.4 times in content creation.

In addition to the top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 8945HS, AMD also launched the Ryzen 7 8845HS, Ryzen 7 8840HS, Ryzen 7 8840U, Ryzen 5 8645HS, Ryzen 5 8640HS, Ryzen 5 8640U, Ryzen 5 8540U and Ryzen 3 8440U processors, which respectively have 8 cores and 16 threads, and 6 cores and 12 threads. The entry-level specification uses a 4-core and 8-thread design.

AMD is ahead of Intel in its AI PC market expansion, announcing the new Ryzen 8040 series processors with integrated Ryzen AI.

However, as entry-level processors, the Ryzen 5 8540U and Ryzen 3 8440U do not have the Ryzen AI computing component design. Only processors with specifications above the Ryzen 5 8640U have artificial intelligence computing capabilities.

而運作時脈最高可達5.2GHz,最低則從4.7GHz起跳,熱設計功耗分別採35-54W、20-30W、15-30W三種設計,顯示部分則分別整合Radeon 780M、Radeon 760M與Radeon 740M。

In terms of artificial intelligence computing, AMD said that the Ryzen AI computing element of the Ryzen 8040 series processors can correspond to 16TOPS performance, which is much higher than the 7040TOPS corresponding to the Ryzen 10 series processors.

In addition, AMD also announced that it will launch its next APU product, code-named Strix Point, in 2024, claiming that it can provide more than three times the automatically generated artificial intelligence computing power, emphasizing that AMD is not lagging behind in the layout of artificial intelligence computing.

Along with the new processor products that integrate artificial intelligence computing architecture, AMD also launched the new Ryzen AI software platform, which will help developers more easily execute various pre-trained artificial intelligence models through AMD processors and enable them to have better execution performance on AMD processor platforms.

As for Acer's new Nitro V 16, it will be the first laptop equipped with AMD Ryzen 8040 series processors. In terms of display, it can be equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, and the screen can be selected in WQXGA or WUXGA specifications. It supports up to 165Hz frame refresh rate and 3ms response time performance. It can also be configured with up to 32GB DRR55600 memory and 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, and is equipped with DTS:X Ultra sound function and Wi-Fi 6E connection specifications.

AMD is ahead of Intel in its AI PC market expansion, announcing the new Ryzen 8040 series processors with integrated Ryzen AI.

In terms of launch time, the Nitro V 16 is expected to be officially launched in March 2024, with a suggested retail price starting at US$3. It will also be equipped with the Windows 999.99 operating system and come with a one-month Xbox Game Pass experience.
