In response to advanced computing needs such as workstations, AMD announced the launch of the new generation Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX series and Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series processors. The former is designed for professional computing needs such as artistic creation, architectural design, and engineering simulation, while the latter is targeted at the advanced computing needs of the consumer computing market.
In terms of power loss, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX series processors can reduce power loss by up to 73% per core, increase rendering performance by up to 2 times, and increase power conversion performance by 2.2 times.
This time, six specifications are launched, including Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX, Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7985WX, Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7975WX, Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7965WX, Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7955WX and Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7945WX.
The thermal design power consumption is 350W. The entry-level specification provides a 12-core, 24-thread design with a base operating clock of 4.7GHz, which can be overclocked to 5.3GHz. The highest specification is equipped with 96 cores and 192 threads, with a base operating clock of 2.5GHz and an overclocking of up to 5.1GHz.
Compared with the previously released Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX, the newly released Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7985WX shows a performance improvement of at least 12% and up to 46% in software such as Chrome Compile, Unreal Engine, Premiere Pro, and AutoCAD Design.
Even compared to its competitor, Intel's Xeon W56-9X with a 3495-core design, it is 28% faster in Chrome Compile computing and 50% faster in Unreal Engine computing processing.
In addition, it supports up to 128 PCIe 5.0 ports, which not only allows the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX series processors to correspond to the latest graphics card specifications, but also supports multi-card computing mode, thereby responding to higher computing needs, or optimizing and fine-tuning computing needs such as artificial intelligence, and even corresponding to local deployment computing usage modes.
As for its highly secure design, manageability, and enterprise application-level design, it can ensure highly reliable and stable computing performance, allowing you to work in professional fields and quickly switch between high-performance computing and multi-tasking requirements.
The Ryzen Threadripper 11 series processors, also expected to be launched on November 21, will be available in three specifications: Ryzen Threadripper 7000X, Ryzen Threadripper 7980X and Ryzen Threadripper 7970X. The entry-level specification has a 7960-core, 3-thread design with 24MB of cache memory, a maximum operating clock of 48GHz, and a thermal design power consumption of 152W. The highest specification adopts a 5.3-core, 350-thread design with 64MB of cache memory, a maximum operating clock of 128GHz, and a thermal design power consumption of 320W.
AMD touts its Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series processors as the most powerful desktop processors yet. Compared to Intel's Xeon W9-3495X processor, they offer at least a 4% performance improvement in software execution, and up to a 94% improvement.
Since AMD's HEDT platform motherboard design based on the TRX50 chipset is also compatible with Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors, users can also use the TRX50 chipset motherboard to assemble high-performance PC devices with 96 cores and 192 threads.
At the same time, AMD stated that companies including the automotive brand Aston Martin, Australian marketing consultant BINYAN, animation company DreamWorks, virtual special effects studio Wylie.co, gaming companies EA and Epic Games, and banking company Goldman Sachs have already introduced Ryzen Threadripper processor products, emphasizing their computing reliability and execution stability.
