AMD announced the release of a technical preview of its new Adrenalin Edition driver software, along with the simultaneous introduction of AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2), an artificial intelligence-driven frame generation technology. This technology allows thousands of games to improve frame refresh rates and smoothness when using AMD graphics cards.
AFMF 2 technology is compatible with Radeon RX 6000 series and Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards, as well as specific AMD Ryzen processors with Radeon graphics cores, and adds new optimized and customizable settings to provide a better frame generation experience.
Among them, through artificial intelligence calculation optimization, the game can improve the screen refresh rate and execution smoothness through frame generation. It can also be used by automatically enabling the best settings or adjusting it according to personal preferences.
In the new "Performance" mode, the operating load of AFMF 2 technology will be reduced, allowing more devices to achieve high frame refresh rate gaming experience, while also experiencing the artificial intelligence-driven frame generation effect to reduce latency.
Currently, AFMF 2 technology can support games created with Vulkan and OpenGL, and can also interact with AMD Radeon Chill power saving function to extend the device's battery life.
