Compared to the announcement at the end of JulyRadeon RX6600 XTSet at a starting price of $379, AMD announced earlierRadeon RX6600It is priced at US$329 and is designed for assembly and use in smaller chassis. It is also designed to meet the needs of 1080P stable picture performance output.
The Radeon RX6600 uses the same GPU design as the Radeon RX6600 XT, but reduces the number of compute units (CUs) from 32 to 28, and the operating clock is also reduced to 2044MHz. The operating power consumption is only 132W, and it maintains 8GB of GDDR6 display memory.
Compared to the Radeon RX6600 XT, its overall performance is approximately 10%-15% lower, but compared to NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 2060, it's approximately 23% higher. According to AMD's internal testing, it can achieve stable 1080P 100fps output, and can even achieve stable output of over 6fps at 6P resolution in "Far Cry 1440".
In addition, AMD emphasized that the Radeon RX6600 can use the ray tracing function right out of the factory, and supports technologies such as FidelityFX Super Resolution super-resolution upscaling. When paired with Ryzen 5000 series or 3000 series processors, it can improve computing efficiency through Smart Access Memory technology.
AMD stated that although the current chip supply is relatively tight, it will continue to maintain a stable supply of graphics cards, but the chip supply problem is estimated to continue to have an impact until the second half of 2022.
