AMD has recently confirmed that it will release the 7th generation A-series APU product codenamed "Bristol Ridge", and is expected to officially unveil the details during Computex 2016.
According to AMD's announcement, it will unveil its 7th generation APU, a new processor codenamed "Bristol Ridge," during Computex 2016, which is expected to be used in new laptop products.
Compared to the APU codenamed "Kaveri" released two years ago, "Bristol Ridge" will offer a 50% performance boost, and compared to last year's updated "Carrizo" APU series, the performance increase is approximately 10%. While few details have been released about "Bristol Ridge," it is confirmed that it will be compatible with DDR4 memory modules, which will improve performance.
The Envy x360, unveiled earlier by HP, is confirmed to feature the AMD FX9800P processor, designed using the "Bristol Ridge" architecture. It's expected to launch in the US market during Computex 2016, on June 1st, and will also be showcased at AMD's press conference.
Bristol Ridge details are expected to be revealed at AMD Tech Day, the lead-up to Computex 2016, where news about the new Polaris graphics card is also expected to be announced.
