Amazon earlier announced its first-quarter financial results for fiscal year 2025, with revenue reaching $1556.67 billion, a 9% increase year-over-year, and net profit reaching $171.27 billion, a 64% increase. The vast majority of revenue still came from online e-commerce sales, reaching $574.7 billion, a 5% increase year-over-year. Third-party seller service revenue reached $365.12 billion, a 6% increase, advertising service revenue reached $139.21 billion, an 18% increase, and subscription services such as Prime reached $117.15 billion, a 9% increase. AWS network service revenue reached $292.67 billion, a 17% increase.
As for the development forecast for the next quarter, Amazon expects revenue to be between US$1590 billion and US$1640 billion, and profit to be between US$130 billion and US$175 billion, but it may still be affected by factors such as tariffs and other trade policies.
Prior to this, there were rumors in the market that Amazon planned to mark the tariff amount on its e-commerce service, which caused criticism from the Trump administration, who believed that it would create hostility between the public and the government and even called it a malicious political act. However, Amazon later clarified this and denied that it would mark the tariff amount on its e-commerce service.
In addition, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy also explained the recently launchedUpgraded digital assistant Alexa+, has accumulated more than 10 users, indicating that this service has attracted a lot of people. And Amazon's previous statement that it will provide Alexa+ services to the public in batches means that more new subscribers will join and the number of users will grow.
However, regarding the fact that some Alexa+ service functions previously demonstrated in February are not yet available for use, Andy Jassy explained that more functions will be added in the coming months. He also stated that he hopes the accuracy of the artificial intelligence agent function corresponding to the Alexa+ service can be improved to more than 2%, which is expected to be a significant improvement over the current situation where the accuracy of most services is still only between 90% and 30%.
