In 2018, Amazon launched a service that allows users to try on items for free within 7 days and then decide whether to buy them.Prime Wardrobe, it was earlier confirmed that it will officially close at the end of January this year.
This service was first offered as an invitation-only beta test for Prime members in 2017 and subsequently expanded to all Prime members. It allows consumers to select 3-8 pieces of clothing or footwear from Amazon, try them on within 7 days, and decide whether to keep them. If consumers decide not to keep the items and return them, Amazon will not charge any fees.
Amazon spokespersondisplayThis service is currently only extended to a specific range of products, but more consumers choose to select suitable clothes through artificial intelligence, such as virtual try-on, personalized size recommendations, review content, etc., making it easier for users to find the clothes they need. Therefore, it has decided to gradually phase out the originally launched Prime Wardrobe service.
However, this service may also be abused by some people with ulterior motives, such as "borrowing" clothes through a 7-day free trial period and returning them before the end of the trial period, which would cause Amazon to incur additional expenses in logistics processing. Therefore, the company finally decided to shut down this service.
