Amazon Drive's online storage service initially offered 5GB of free space for users to store personal digital photos, documents, or archived content. Its main competitors at the time included Microsoft OneDrive's predecessor, Windows Live SkyDrive (later renamed SkyDrive), as well as Google's early acquisition of Picasa, an online photo storage service, and its subsequent launch of Google Drive.
In addition to announcing the closure of Amazon Drive, Amazon also announced that it will replace the original Amazon Drive service with Amazon Photos, and claims to provide better, more secure, and easier to share photo and video storage solutions.
目前Amazon Photos提供100GB、1TB與2TB儲存容量選項，服務訂閱費用分別為每月1.99美元、每月6.99美元與每月11.99美元。
