OnEarlier announcementIn the news, Amazon's streaming game service Luna will allow users to directly purchase selected Ubisoft games, including multiple "Assassin's Creed", "Far Cry", "Child of Light" and "Watch Dogs".
Amazon has previously partnered with Ubisoft to allow users to stream and play existing Ubisoft titles directly through the Luna service. This further deepens the partnership with Ubisoft, allowing Luna users to directly link their Ubisoft accounts and purchase their favorite Ubisoft games directly on the Luna service.
Ubisoft games purchased through the Luna service can also be downloaded and installed through Ubisoft Connect, and can be played without an internet connection. They can even be streamed from the cloud on devices such as Fire TV, Chromebook, and mobile phones through the Luna service.
On the other hand, if users no longer subscribe to the Luna service, they can still own the Ubisoft games they purchased in the past and will not be unable to continue using them due to stopping their subscription to the Luna service.
However, Amazon has yet to announce whether it will partner with game developers beyond Ubisoft to expand the convenience of cloud streaming for gaming content. The addition of game purchases to the Luna service also seems to make it somewhat similar to Google's discontinued Stadia service.
