During IFA 2025, Amazon announced the launch ofNew eero Signal mobile network backup deviceThis is designed for the eero series of routers, and it claims to be able to automatically switch to 4G or 5G mobile networks when the home network is interrupted, thereby maintaining the network connection and avoiding the dilemma of "complete disconnection".
USB-C external port, supports Wi-Fi 6 and above network specifications
The eero Signal uses a USB-C connection and can be installed on any eero series router that supports Wi-Fi 6 or later.
The product is divided into two models: 4G LTE version and 5G connection version, with a suggested retail price of US$100 and US$200 respectively. It has built-in eSIM specifications supported by multiple telecom operators, can automatically detect major network failures and take over the connection, and can quickly switch back when the original home network is restored.
Amazon said that eero Signal is not used as a standalone mobile hotspot, but can only be used as a backup tool for an existing home network. It is limited to use in a single installation location and is suitable for situations where network disconnections occur more frequently.
Requires an eero Plus subscription plan
To use eero Signal, users need to subscribe to the eero Plus annual plan. The basic version costs $99 per year. In addition to the backup network, it also includes VPN, password management tools, antivirus services and 10GB of backup network traffic.
If your internet needs are higher, Amazon also offers the eero Plus 100 plan, which costs $200 per year and increases the backup network traffic to 100GB. It is suitable for families or small studios that are highly dependent on uninterrupted internet access, as well as general businesses that need to maintain business operations through the internet.
For consumer and enterprise markets
In addition to home users, eero Signal will also be integrated into the eero Business product line, providing small and medium-sized businesses with a more stable network backup option. For businesses that need to ensure uninterrupted online meetings, point-of-sale systems, or cloud services, this solution can significantly reduce operational risks.
