Amazon continues to provideSame-day medicine delivery serviceAfter that, furtherOne Medical Clinic ServicesIntroductionAmazon Pharmacy Kiosk Prescription Drug Vending Machine Service, allowing users to pick up their medicine directly on site after the consultation. It is expected to be launched first in the Los Angeles area of the United States in December this year, and will be expanded to more locations in the future.

This new service is integrated with Amazon's Amazon App. When users see a doctor at One Medical and obtain a prescription, they can use the App to choose to pick up their medication at the "Amazon Pharmacy Kiosk" prescription drug vending machine in the clinic.

After the vending machine displays the medication price and available credit, medication can typically be picked up within minutes, eliminating the need to wait in line at the pharmacy. This improves medication pickup rates and reduces the risk of treatment interruptions. Amazon said this design addresses the issue of some patients being unable to obtain medication or being too lazy to go to the pharmacy, while also enhancing the immediacy of medical services.
The vending machines will stock most common prescription medications, such as antibiotics, asthma inhalers, and blood pressure medications, but will not include controlled substances or items that require refrigeration. Users can also video or phone a pharmacist directly through the Amazon app for professional consultation to ensure safe medication use.
Currently, One Medical's membership subscription method is to subscribe through Amazon Prime membership for $9 per month or $99 per year, or to subscribe as a general user for $199 per year.
Prime members can enjoy an additional $30 discount in the near future. Non-members can still pay to make online consultation appointments, but during the initial introduction phase, they will still need to go to the One Medical clinic in person to use the "Amazon Pharmacy Kiosk" prescription drug vending machine service.

The launch of this service completes Amazon's healthcare ecosystem. Since its official acquisition of One Medical in 2022, Amazon has been actively integrating medical, pharmaceutical, and digital health data, gradually connecting everything from remote consultations and drug delivery to physical medical treatments, in an effort to create a "one-stop health platform."
The industry believes that Amazon's automated vending machine system will not only improve drug distribution efficiency but also further enhance its competitive advantage in the medical technology sector by collecting usage data to improve AI-powered medical decision-making and supply chain management. As the service expands to more cities, Amazon's innovative pharmacy delivery model may disrupt traditional pharmacy operations, making "see a doctor and pick up your medication" the new norm.
