Business InsiderCiting sources, Amazon is working onUpgraded Alexa digital assistant service, may be launched with multiple service partners, including online car reservation service Uber, online ticket service Ticketmaster, local business reservation service Vagaro, and restaurant reservation service OpenTable.
Other partners may include online food delivery service Grubhub, grocery ordering service Instacart, travel recommendation service Fodors, and home service Thumbtack, allowing users to connect with the aforementioned services through the new version of Alexa digital assistant service.
Sources said that these service providers had confirmed their cooperation with Amazon at the end of August this year, and some of them have already been testing the new version of Alexa services. Amazon expects to attract about 8 partners to join within three years after the launch of the new version of Alexa and the launch of paid subscription services.
Services that join the collaboration will be able to use the new version of Alexa services to perform specific tasks, rather than operating through existing Alexa Skills functions, which means that joining the collaboration services can make more complete use of Alexa service functions.
Amazon is currently using a large natural language model to improve Alexa services, which is internally codenamed "Banyan" or "Remarkable Alexa". It is expected to improve Alexa's existing problems such as delayed response and inaccurate responses.
In response to recent rumors, Amazon stated that it plans to make Alexa the best personal assistant service and is optimistic about the opportunities driven by generative artificial intelligence technology. Uber, Ticketmaster, Vagaro, OpenTable, Grubhub, Instacart, Fodor's, and Thumbtack did not respond to the rumors.
