Through the computing power of the H2 chip, beamforming microphones and algorithms, the recorded sound can filter out background noise and present it in a cleaner sound quality form.
On the other hand, this update can also improve the call quality when using headset calls, FaceTime or third-party apps that support the CallKit API.
This update also allows users to use AirPods as a camera remote control for iPhone, iPad or Mac. Apple also revealed that this feature will support third-party apps, but the specific list of supported apps has not yet been announced.
