Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said he hopes to build the Airbnb service platform into the "Amazon" of the travel industry, and revealed that he will invest US$2 million to US$2.5 million in new products to be launched on the Airbnb service in May this year.
According to Airbnb instructions, its revenue in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024 reached US$24.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12%.
During the earnings conference, Brian Chesky revealed that he would invest $5 million to $2 million in the new Airbnb service products that are expected to be launched in May. This will transform Airbnb from an existing short-term rental service platform into an expandable platform that can provide a series of service products and meet all travel and life needs like Amazon services.
In his metaphor, Brian Chesky initially served book content, then expanded to DVD and CD sales, and then to larger e-commerce services. Currently, it has expanded to Internet service platforms, hardware equipment, artificial intelligence, and even provides more products covering users' daily needs.
Brian Chesky's goal is to get users to use Airbnb services more frequently, and he expects that most users will increase their frequency from once or twice a year to once or twice a week.
