Become a popular choice when comparing camera features among many mobile phone brandsFrequently Citation IndexLater, DXOMARK announced the launch of a new evaluation index - "Sound".
According to DXOMARK, the sound evaluation index will measure the sound performance of mobile devices in general outdoor and laboratory conditions, as well as in scenarios such as video playback and gaming. At the same time, the score will be added up through sound playback and recording.
In further explanation, DXOMARK stated that including the sound playback or sound recording part, the overall sound quality performance, dynamic range performance, spatial sense performance, different volume performance, and sound field performance will be comprehensively calculated, and finally the sound playback or sound recording score will be added up.
DXOMARK has also built a dedicated laboratory for testing devices, with a dedicated team responsible for evaluating the sound playback and recording performance of various devices. By adding new evaluation item indices, users can understand the sound performance of devices such as mobile phones through these indices, making it easier to choose suitable products.
According to DXOMARK's current statistics, Huawei Mate 20 X took the lead in the mobile phone project, taking first place with a total score of 75 points. The second place was Apple's iPhone XS Max launched last year, with a score of 74 points. The iPhone 11 Pro Max launched this year ranked third with a total score of only 71 points.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 10+, released this year, scored 66 points, while the Galaxy S10+, released in the first half of the year, scored 65 points. Sony Mobile's flagship phone, the Xperia 1, only scored 45 points in DXOMARK's evaluation. It's unclear whether this is the same as the camera test results, or perhaps it's a matter of DXOMARK's evaluation criteria and Sony Mobile's design philosophy.obviously different.
