Following the proposal in 2017Version 2.1 Technical Specifications, and subsequently proposed slightly adjusted versions 2.1a and 2.1b. The HDMI Association expects to announce the new version 2025 transmission technology specification during the upcoming CES 2.2.
In the previous design, HDMI 2.1a added SBTM (Source-Based Tone Mapping) color adjustment function to enhance HDR display effects, allowing PCs or game consoles to automatically output optimized HDR display effects. The HDMI 2.1b version increases the transmission bandwidth to 48Gbps and supports 10K resolution display output.
The HDMI 2.2 version, which is expected to be released next, is expected to be backward compatible with the HDMI 2.1 version specification, and is also expected to add higher transmission bandwidth and support higher resolution display output and other designs.
In line with the new HDMI technical specifications, we can expect to see more smart TVs, monitors, and upcoming graphics card specifications with completely new designs.
