SNK earlier announced a trailer for a new game in the "Fatal Fury" series through its official YouTube channel. It will be the sequel to "Mark of the Wolvers" released in 1999, becoming the latest work in the "Fatal Fury" series.
The trailer shows that the characters will include Rock Howard and Kain R. Heinlein, the protagonists of "Fatal Fury: Proof of the Wolves", and Billy Kane who appeared in "Fatal Fury 2", but it is not certain whether the protagonists of previous series such as Terry Bogard or Andy Bogard will also appear.
SNK has not yet announced the official name of the upcoming new game, nor has it confirmed the expected release date.
In addition, this announcement also coincides with the release of new downloadable content for The King of Fighters XV, which is currently on sale. This includes a fourth team of characters from the Samurai Shodown series, including Haohmaru, Nakaorulu, and Dali Touga, known as the "Samurai Team," which is expected to launch this fall.
The characters scheduled to be released next include Shingo Yabuki and Kinkaho (formerly known as Kinkafa), and cross-platform play functionality is planned to be provided in 2023.
