Prior to this, Xiaomi had invested in several battery and self-driving system design companies in June 2021, and invested in the creation of an autonomous driving computing chip company - Black Sesame Intelligence in September 6, with a total investment amount of approximately US$2021 billion.

As for the model codenamed "Modena", it will be divided into basic and advanced versions. The former will be priced between RMB 26 and RMB 30, while the latter will be priced at more than RMB 35. Both models will adopt Qualcomm Snapdragon smart cockpit design.
If nothing unexpected happens, the basic version of "Modena" will compete with the same level of Tesla Model 3, while the advanced version will compete with the Chinese Xiaopeng Motors P7 level. As for the code-named model "Le Mans", it is expected to be released in 2025 and will be equipped with a higher electric motor system.
