Perplexity has officially propelled its AI assistant to a new level of "fully automated agentic AI." The newly launched..."Perplexity Computer"Breaking the limitations of a single model, it integrates multiple world-leading AI models to autonomously complete the entire workflow from data collection to video processing within a browser. However, its hefty monthly subscription fee of $200 also indicates that this is an ultimate productivity tool designed specifically for heavy professional users.

A top-tier AI assistant for $200 per month! Perplexity launches "Perplexity Computer," a fully automated multi-model workflow.

Unlike the traditional question-and-answer model, "Perplexity Computer" integrates multiple AI models with autonomous execution capabilities into a powerful automated ecosystem, allowing AI to evolve from a simple "text assistant" into a "digital employee" capable of completing complex tasks across different fields.

Key highlights: Automated task breakdown and cross-model collaboration

Users no longer need to manually give prompts for each step; they only need to describe the desired outcome to the system, and Perplexity Computer will automatically take over the subsequent processes.

• Automatically create "sub-agents": The system will automatically break down tasks according to the target and assign sub-agents to perform tasks such as web searching, generating long documents, processing complex data, or calling external APIs.

• Powerful Multi-Model Collaboration: Perplexity believes that AI models are becoming increasingly specialized. Therefore, the system uses Opus 4.6 as its core and can automatically call upon the most suitable expert model based on the attributes of different tasks. Currently supported models include Gemini, Grok, ChatGPT 5.2, and Nano Banana, which specializes in image generation, and Veo 3.1, which specializes in video processing.

• Independent and secure sandbox environment: To ensure data security and system stability during the execution of complex tasks, each task runs in an independent and secure environment, with its own browser, file system and tool interface to prevent data interference between different tasks.

The high prices directly target businesses and professional markets.

Compared to the mainstream $20/month AI subscription services currently available to consumers, Perplexity Computer takes an extreme professional approach with a high price tag.

This powerful automation capability is currently included in a premium subscription plan called "Max," which costs a hefty $200 per month (approximately NT$6500 / RMB 1378). This pricing strategy clearly reflects its target customer base: enterprise users, researchers, or senior content creators who require extensive automated research, cross-media content generation, and complex data processing.

Analysis of viewpoints

The launch of Perplexity Computer symbolizes a new trend in the AI industry, shifting from an "all-encompassing single mega-model" to "multi-model orchestration." By assigning different AIs to their areas of expertise (e.g., Opus for coordination, Gemini for analysis, and Nano Banana for drawing), future workflows will become more automated and precise.
