Sony recently announced theThin PlayStation 5 game console, it is currently confirmed that it will be available for sale in the Taiwan market on December 12, and the author has actually compared the two thin PlayStation 20 game consoles to confirmIts design details.
薄型機種機身重量降低為3.2公斤,相比PlayStation 5最初版本 (CFI-1000A)約降低29%重量,更比近期小改款 (CFI-1200A)設計降低約18%重量,全機體積更減少超過30%幅度。
The internal cooling mechanism has been readjusted, but it still basically uses active cooling through the fan system located on the top of the host. The M.2 NVMe SSD expansion interface has been moved behind the fan system. The processor also uses liquid metal as the input medium, and heat is removed through two sets of heat sinks and five sets of heat pipes.
The two side covers have been changed from a single piece to a two-piece composite design, with the upper half adopting a glossy appearance and the lower half maintaining a matte effect. At the same time, the original sliding removal design has been changed to an upward flip-up design, allowing users to simply pull it up to remove it, making it more convenient to upgrade M.2 SSDs or replace modular optical drive accessories (if you originally purchased the digital version, you must upgrade it with an additional optical drive accessory).
The internal processor still maintains the 6nm process manufacturing specifications, which will be changed to the future. Compared with the 7nm process processor version, it adopts a more compact structure design to reduce the size of the host. The optical disc drive is changed to a detachable module design, which can simplify the host production process and thus reduce manufacturing costs. As for the built-in storage component, the capacity is increased to 1TB, thereby increasing more storage space.
The front USB port has been changed from the original USB-A and USB-C design to two sets of USB-C, but one set still maintains the USB 2 connection specification, mainly used for connecting and charging peripheral accessories such as the DualSense controller.
Additionally, the vertical stand accessory has been redesigned and is only suitable for horizontal placement. If you prefer to place the console upright, you must purchase the additional vertical stand accessory.
As for the packaging, the slim model equipped with an optical disc drive still maintains the white box design, while the digital version adopts a black box design to make it easier for consumers to distinguish when purchasing.
The slim model is currently available in the US, Europe, UK, and Japan, and is expected to be officially launched in the Taiwan market on December 12.
In terms of suggested retail price, the optical disc drive version in the US market will be sold at US$499.99, and the digital model version will be sold at US$449.99. The expansion UHD BD disc drive accessory is priced at US$79.99, and the vertical stand accessory is priced at US$29.99.
