As a top-tier imaging flagship phone in China, the Xiaomi 17 Max's hardware essence lies in the combination of its 1-inch ultra-large main sensor and large-aperture Summilux lens. Its light intake and physical bokeh performance in low-light and extreme night scenes are unmatched by mid-range phones. Simultaneously, the Xiaomi 17 Max features a "dual telephoto" configuration, balancing 3x the golden focal length for portraits and over 5x the zoom for super-telephoto shooting. In contrast...Xiaomi 17T seriesWhile it comes standard with a class-leading 5x optical zoom lens, the sensor size of both the main camera and the telephoto lens has been reduced. Essentially, this is compensated for by AI calculations (Ultra Zoom). Furthermore, the standard version of the Xiaomi 17T completely omits Leica lens certification, which is the most direct cost-cutting measure.

The absolute hierarchy of imaging systems: 1-inch sensor vs. practical telephoto.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi 17 Max features a "dual telephoto" configuration, offering 3x the golden focal length for portraits and over 5x the zoom for super-telephoto shooting.

In contrast, the Xiaomi 17T series, while featuring a class-leading 5x optical zoom lens as standard, has reduced sensor size for both its main camera and telephoto lens. Essentially, this is compensated for by AI calculations (Ultra Zoom). Furthermore, the standard Xiaomi 17T completely omits Leica lens certification, representing the most direct cost-cutting measure.

Reverse the trend of exceeding battery capacity: The birth of a battery life monster

Because the Xiaomi 17 Max had to accommodate an extremely space-consuming one-inch sensor camera module, a dual periscope structure, and a wireless charging coil, its battery capacity was limited to 6200mAh.

By abandoning the heavy camera module and wireless charging components, the Xiaomi 17T Pro was able to free up internal space for a new generation of "high energy density silicon carbon battery", directly pushing the battery capacity to an astonishing 7000mAh. Combined with the Dimensity 9500's energy efficiency ratio, the Xiaomi 17T Pro actually outperforms the Xiaomi 17 Max in terms of pure "battery life".

Cost compromises between screen and body manufacturing

The Xiaomi 17 Max features a high-cost 2K resolution full refresh rate screen and uses titanium and high-end ceramic for its body shell, giving it a luxurious and heavy feel in hand.

The Xiaomi 17T series features a 1.5K resolution screen. While it's slightly less detailed than 2K, its peak brightness of 3500 nits and ultra-high refresh rate of 144Hz (Xiaomi 17T Pro) offer better performance in gaming and outdoor reading in bright light. The body frame has also been changed to a lighter aluminum alloy or plastic, thus achieving a balance between weight (to compensate for the burden of the large battery) and price.
