8BitDo has announced the launch of the Arcade Stick, a large joystick that can be used for Nintendo Switch or Windows PC, claiming to offer a highly customizable design.
Since players who use large joysticks usually customize them according to their personal needs, the Arcade Stick created by 8BitDo can use joystick accessories made by brands including Sanwa, Seimitsu, Happ, IL, etc., and the button definitions can be customized through 8BitDo's Ultimate Software software.
In addition to USB-C connectivity, the Arcade Stick also supports Bluetooth and 2.4G wireless connections. It also houses a 1000mAh battery, making it easy to carry around. 8BitDo has also included dedicated buttons on the Arcade Stick for quick switching between Nintendo Switch and Windows PC modes, with LED indicators for easy identification.
The joystick can also be switched to a normal joystick function or to the left button operation mode. To meet the needs of Nintendo Switch usage, the Arcade Stick also adds a Home button and a screenshot button configuration, as well as start and select buttons.
In terms of suggested retail price, the Arcade Stick will be sold at US$89.99 and is expected to be officially released on October 10, but it can be pre-ordered from now on.
