During its eight years of deep cultivation in the Taiwanese market, Uber Eats has been committed to promoting the successful delivery success of its merchant partners on the platform. According to a third-party survey report, Uber Eats created a total economic output value of NT$2023 billion for delivery partners, restaurants and other merchants from October 10 to September 2024, continuously bringing growth momentum to Taiwan's delivery economy and creating an additional NT$9 billion in sales for merchant partners using Uber Eats.
Uber Eats has held the Uber Eats Merchant Partner Awards for four consecutive years to recognize outstanding performance in innovative operations, consumer preference, daily food, and environmental sustainability. 75 merchant partnersAmong the 14 awards presented this year, the "Best Taiwanese Flavor Award," "Best Delivery Quality," and "Best Food Safety Award" are newly added, highlighting the platform's collaboration with merchant partners to provide consumers with the most popular and safe dining experiences.

From January to November of this year, the number of merchant partners on the platform continued to increase to over 1, the number of Uber One members increased by 11%, and the participation rate of partner merchants in discounts continued to reach nearly 8%. In addition, the platform maintains approximately 3 active delivery partners and a high-quality on-demand delivery experience. Looking ahead to next year, we look forward to increasing the density of our delivery service to serve more people in Taiwan."
35 new brands, including Best Taiwanese Flavor, Best Delivery Quality, and Best Food Safety, have been added to the list, including Golden Color Sanmai, Wanbo, and Hi-Lai Cuisine.
This year, 35 brands won the 2024 Uber Eats Merchant Partner Award for the first time, including Wanbo, Hi-Lai Cuisine, Ganpai Group, Wuma BBQ, Green Bean and Yi Ren, Sleep Five Minutes, Golden Three Mai, etc.; the two brands that took home the most awards were "Din Tai Fung" and "McDonald's". Din Tai Fung won the "Best Taiwanese Flavor Award", "Should Be Ordered Award", and "Delivery Partner Favorite Award", while McDonald's won the "Outstanding Contribution Award", "Innovative Management Award", and "Best Packaging Award for Environmental Sustainability".
To continue Uber Eats' localization efforts, this year's awards program added the "Best Taiwanese Food Award" to recognize restaurants on the platform that offer unforgettable Taiwanese cuisine. Winning businesses include Din Tai Fung, Banfang Yunji, De Zheng, and PX Mart. From the popular combination of pork ribs and egg fried rice and hot and sour soup, to value-for-money options like pot stickers and corn soup, hand-shaken drinks, and fresh ingredients delivered directly from the source, these offerings undoubtedly make consumers want to check out Uber Eats every day for a taste of Taiwan.
Uber Eats recognizes its partners with the "Best Delivery Quality Award" and "Best Food Safety Award" for diligently optimizing delivery processes and ensuring quality. These partners work together to enhance delivery quality and a safer consumer experience, thereby strengthening consumer trust. "Xiao Cha Zhai," winner of the "Best Delivery Quality Award," insists on adding ice and pearls just before delivery, ensuring consumers enjoy a refreshing, chewy, and freshly brewed bubble tea. John's Black Tea also underwent six months of continuous testing to maintain the taste of its pearls before adding them to the platform. In the fresh food delivery category, "Uber Eats Premium Market" stands out with its low out-of-stock and customer complaint rates, striving to provide consumers with a visible and tangible experience. The restaurants honored with the "Best Food Safety Award" include "Golden Three Wheat", "Beard Zhang", "Hai Lai Food Group" (including Hai Lai Vegetarian Food, Hai Lai Shanghai Soup Dumplings, and Liuliu Pickled Fish), and "Sheng De Kos". They have received "Excellent" government catering hygiene management grading for their rigorous food safety management operations and have maintained a record of snack safety-related concerns on the Uber Eats platform so far this year.
Following the launch of the "Uber Eats Sustainable Packaging Guidelines" mid-year, Uber Eats has conducted a series of communications and outreach with its partners to promote the two key areas of "zero waste and green packaging." This year, Uber Eats also added the "Green Restaurant Award" to its environmental sustainability awards, honoring businesses such as Q Burger, Kanpai Group, and Lemon Burger, recognizing those that have taken the lead in government-certified green restaurants. The "Best Sustainable Packaging Award" went to McDonald's, Journey Kaffe, and Butcher by LanPengYou for their government-certified green restaurants. Journey Kaffe and Butcher by LanPengYou were also selected as global Uber Eats Green Sustainability Ambassadors for their 100% compliance with the "Uber Eats Sustainable Packaging Guidelines."
