Following Xiaomi's new phone launch, Meizu also announced its new flagship phone, the Pro 5. It uses a Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and boasts performance similar to the Galaxy S6. Memory options include 3GB and 4GB, with a starting internal storage capacity of 32GB. Like Samsung, it uses UFS 2.0 technology, but its design bears some resemblance to the Apple iPhone 6.
Meizu's recently unveiled flagship Pro 5 features a design similar to the Apple iPhone 6, featuring a 2.5D curved screen edge. However, the edges of the body adopt a diamond-cut design, while the front physical home button incorporates a fingerprint sensor.
As for the hardware specifications, the Pro 5 uses the Samsung Exynos 7420 processor, and boasts performance close to that of the Galaxy S6. It also features a Sensor Hub co-processor provided by STMicroelectronics. Memory is available in 3GB or 4GB versions, and the built-in storage capacity starts at 32GB. It even uses UFS 6 technology specifications similar to the Galaxy S2.0, allowing this new phone to almost simultaneously incorporate the product concepts of Apple and Samsung. The battery capacity is provided as 3050mAh, and the USB Type-C port design is also adopted.
The camera features a 2100-megapixel Sony IMX230 sensor module, phase detection autofocus, and a laser autofocus system for faster photography. The video camera uses a 500-megapixel sensor. The Pro 5 is available in gold, silver, and gray, and boasts fast charging, which can fully charge the phone to 65% in just half an hour.
In terms of operating system, Meizu also announced the new version of Flyme OS 5, which will add a new personalized screen lock interface, card-style multi-tasking display mode, split screen function, and one-click loss reporting functions. However, the Pro 5 released this time is currently only pre-loaded with version 4.5, and it is expected that the relatively stable version 11 will be available after November 15.
