Following the introduction of live streaming functionality on services like Facebook and YouTube, LINE has also announced the addition of Chat Live to its chatroom feature, allowing users to share their moments instantly via their phones. Additionally, LINE Chatroom has added new features such as event creation and birthday postings to its dynamic feed.
LINE Chat Room Live, announced at LINE CONFERENCE 2017, allows users to live stream their chats from their Android or iOS devices, creating a more intimate experience for chat room members. To use this feature, simply update LINE to the latest version (7.9.0).
In LINE's "Group Chat Room" and "Multi-person Chat Room," simply tap the "Phone" icon in the top right corner. You'll find a new "Live" option under the call options. Clicking this button will start a live broadcast. The live broadcast feature supports groups of up to 200 participants, with three screen sizes to choose from: full screen, standard size, or a floating window. Unlike Facebook and YouTube, LINE treats live broadcasts as instant messaging, so viewing is limited to the moment of the live broadcast and the video will not be saved in the chat room after the live broadcast ends.
In addition, LINE has also added an "Event" function to the new version of the chat room, allowing users to easily create event lists and mark the date, location, number of participants, etc. The "Birthday Submission" function launched for birthdays allows chat room friends to decorate cute birthday cards with graffiti, photos, videos or collages on the user's birthday.
