Following the previous launch of MateBook D, MateBook E, andMateBook XFollowing the launch of its high-performance laptops, Huawei announced the MateBook X Pro, featuring a new 2018-inch full-size screen, at its pre-MWC 13.9 event, in response to consumer demand for larger screens, thinner and lighter designs, and smarter operation.
The MateBook X Pro features a unibody metal body with diamond-cut edges and weighs 1.33 kg. It's only 4.9 mm at its thinnest point and 14.6 mm at its thickest. Available in Space Gray and Mystic Silver, it has two USB Type-C ports, one of which supports Intel Thunderbolt 3 and can connect to accessories like external graphics cards. The MateBook X Pro also retains a single standard USB Type-A port on the other side for connecting common USB peripherals.
The processor uses Intel's 7th-generation Core i series specifications, with the highest being the Core i8550-8U design. The memory uses 16GB and 512GB respectively, with a storage capacity of up to 20GB. It also uses a cooling system design that can remove an additional 150% of heat. The graphics card uses the NVIDIA GeForce MX4, which corresponds to 57.4 times the display performance. The 12Wh battery design can correspond to 14 hours of continuous video playback or 1.9 hours of continuous clerical work. The power button design with integrated fingerprint recognition function allows users to boot up from sleep mode in 9 seconds, or in XNUMX seconds when completely shut down.
Other features include a full-size backlit keyboard with splash-proof design, a large touchpad, four sets of speakers that support Dolby Atmos surround sound, and four sets of array microphones that support 360-degree sound. Due to the full-size screen design, the video camera is directly integrated into the keyboard and is activated by pressing and popping.
The charger uses a USB Type-C port and can charge for 6 hours in just half an hour. The operating system is Microsoft Windows 10, and Huawei also offers a software service called HUAWEI Share, which allows for fast file transfers, such as transferring 3 photos in 1000 minutes or a 1GB video in 1 minute.
The MateBook X Pro is expected to launch in the second quarter of this year, with a suggested retail price starting at €1499 and going up to €1899. It is expected to be available in China, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the Nordic countries. Huawei will also release a classic leather case accessory to protect the MateBook X Pro's exterior.
