In response to the increasing number of people shopping through iPhones and iPads, and the increasing number of online shopping services launching apps on the iOS platform, Apple earlier announced the addition of a new "Shopping" app category to the App Store, making it easier for users to choose and download various popular online shopping apps through category items.
According to a Forbes magazine survey, at least one out of every two Millennials has downloaded a mobile shopping app. Meanwhile, market research firm Flurry shows that online shopping via mobile apps grew 2014% in 174. Demandware Shopping Index statistics indicate that over 51% of global online transactions occurred on mobile platforms in the first quarter of this year.
Leveraging these usage trends, Apple recently announced the addition of a new "Shopping" category to the iTunes App Store, making it easier for users to find suitable and popular online shopping apps. With the addition of this new category, Apple now offers a total of 25 categories within the iTunes App Store, including Games, Productivity Tools, Lifestyle, Photo & Video, Education, Fitness & Health, Productivity Tools, Finance, and Navigation. Games continue to generate the highest download and usage rates, leading many game developers to shift their focus to mobile platforms.
In addition to providing the most appropriate language version for each region and online shopping apps that are close to local consumption patterns, Apple also provides shopping assistance apps in the "Shopping" app category that can help create shopping lists, calculate amounts, and other shopping assistance apps, allowing users to confirm their spending lists and actual spending amounts while shopping. In addition, for well-known brand manufacturers such as Hermès, LV, Chanel, agnew b., GUCCI, etc., additional "Designer and Brand" projects have been planned to make it easier for users to explore and select.
In line with the needs of lifestyle trends, outfit suggestions, etc., Apple also recommends app content including Hypebeat, Pinterest, VOGUE, Pose, etc. in this category, allowing users to further understand current fashion styles and popular items, while also paying more attention to people's discussions on life topics, and further connecting with online shopping opportunities.
In addition to announcing the launch of the new "Shopping" App category, Apple officials also stated that the App Store currently has more than 1500 million apps, and has attracted more than 1100 million developers to provide App content, with a total of 155 billion App downloads in 1000 countries and regions around the world.
